Sting's concert ignites the Eurockéennes...

Sting, rock legend, closed the Belfort Festival last night. The Englishman sang his greatest hits in front of three generations of festivalgoers.

He arrived with his dark hipster beard. 64 years old. The silhouette of a young man. On the main stage, Sting launched into one of his hits, "If I Ever Lose My Faith."

The former lead singer of the band Police, greeted by lightning in the Malsaucy sky. After days of scorching heat, festivalgoers finally breathed, refreshed by a few drops of rain. And the joy of hearing the rock legend in Belfort.

In French with a charming English accent, Mister Sting belted out hit after hit, getting the audience singing along. In the crowd, there were 18-year-olds, 60-somethings, and 40-somethings, all serenaded by the hits of The Police. "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," "So Lonely," a chorus of "Roxanne" with the Eurockéens. And finally, the legendary "Every Breath You Take."

"I saw Sting, I can go to bed and die," we hear from the festival-goers.

1:00 a.m. One last encore. Sting leaves the stage and immediately gets into a sedan with tinted windows. He'll be performing tonight in Germany at the Warsteiner HockeyPark in Monchengladbach.

Sting is touring throughout Europe this summer.
